Fair Use Policy
Fair-Use Traffic Policy
Fair-Use applies to all services unless a fixed limit was mentioned during ordering. Unlimited Fair-Use is also Fair-Use.
Traffic allocation: 2TB Traffic per €1 spent (excl. VAT). For VPS in Germany, the allocation is 1TB Traffic per €1 spent (excl. VAT). If this soft limit is exceeded, we reserve the right to suspend the service. However, this is a rare occurrence and typically only applied as a safeguard to prevent excessive abuse of resources and activities such as DDoSing.
Dedicated Servers: 1G 95/5 unmetered flatrate included per Dedicated server if not mentioned otherwise.
Traffic Generators:
Traffic generators, such as speedtest servers or constant repetitive speedtests, are not permitted as they contradict the purpose of Fair-Use. This includes any automated or manual processes that generate traffic for testing purposes without legitimate use case.
Exceptions: Traffic generators are only allowed in the following cases:
- If a fixed TB limit has been set for your service
- If it has been discussed and approved by our team in advance
- If you are paying for dedicated bandwidth on Dedicated Servers
Dedicated Servers with 1G 95/5: The traffic generator restriction also applies to Dedicated Servers with 1G 95/5 unmetered flatrate, unless explicitly discussed and approved with our team beforehand.
CPU Usage
High CPU usage is allowed for legitimate operations such as application processing, data analysis, compilation, or computational tasks. You are permitted to utilize over 80% of the CPU for up to 6 hours continuously.
Limitations:
- If high CPU usage (over 80%) persists beyond 6 hours continuously, we reserve the right to suspend the server
- Repeated patterns of sustained high CPU usage may result in service limitations
- While we usually contact the customer before taking such actions, we are not obligated to do so prior to suspension
Prohibited practices:
- Cryptocurrency mining or similar resource-intensive operations
- Running CPU-intensive processes that intentionally saturate CPU resources
- Using shared resources for operations that require dedicated CPU allocation
If you require sustained high CPU performance, please consider upgrading to a plan with dedicated resources or contact our support team to discuss your specific requirements.
Disk IO Usage
High Disk IO usage is allowed during spikes or legitimate operations such as database queries, file operations, or application workloads. However, it is prohibited to intentionally maintain high Disk IO usage over extended periods that may impact other customers' services.
Prohibited practices:
- Causing high Disk IO through excessive swap file usage
- Running continuous disk-intensive operations that saturate IOPS
- Using disk space as RAM substitute through excessive swapping
- Performing sustained high-intensity disk operations that degrade overall system performance
If you require sustained high Disk IO performance, please consider upgrading to a plan with dedicated resources or contact our support team to discuss your specific requirements.
General Resource Abuse
It is strictly prohibited to engage in any activities that negatively impact the performance of other customers' servers or the overall infrastructure.
Prohibited activities include but are not limited to:
- DDoS attacks, network flooding, or any form of network abuse
- Spam, phishing, or malicious email distribution
- Hosting or distributing malware, viruses, or other harmful software
- Illegal content hosting or activities that violate applicable laws
- Resource-intensive operations that degrade shared infrastructure performance
- Attempting to circumvent resource limits or security measures
- Using services for activities that violate our Terms and Conditions
Enforcement:
Violations of this policy may result in immediate service suspension, throttling, or termination without prior notice. We reserve the right to take necessary actions to protect our infrastructure and other customers. In cases of severe abuse or illegal activities, we may report incidents to relevant authorities.
If you are unsure whether your intended use case is acceptable, please contact our support team before deploying your service.
